Readeville – Week Three

Dear Readers,

Thank you for coming to Acquaintance Night. It was great to see you all. The children did a fantastic job of reflecting on their learning so far. It was also lovely to hear your positive feedback about the collaborative nature of ‘Readeville’.

Here are a few points to follow up from this week:

  • It is children’s own responsibility to change their readers regularly during the week. Please help support your child’s love of reading and reading fluency by hearing them read as regularly as possible and reading with them, too (e.g. sharing library books). Please note, although we will assess your child’s reading during the year, we will not be asking parents to formally record which readers their child is reading. Our reading focus has been to enjoy the story!
  • Please make sure you send back any of your child’s books that you have taken home to cover by Monday.
  • Please let us know if you are available to volunteer with any classroom activities by using the sign-in sheet in your child’s classroom.
  • Please ensure your child brings their blue reading folder to school daily.

Thank you again for your support.

Kind regards,

Rachel Palmer and Michelle Wyman
